This course teaches wind industry personnel how to safely use small, fixed cranes and hoists commonly found on wind turbines, both onshore and offshore. Through theory and hands-on practice, you’ll learn safe operation, basic inspection, and how to follow manufacturer manuals and legal requirements during service work. After completing the course, you’ll be qualified as a basic user to perform basic lifts with fixed cranes and hoists in wind turbine environments.

This GWO crane and hoist training course aims to equip participants in the wind industry to safely operate, inspect, and maintain small, fixed cranes and hoists by following manufacturer manuals and relevant laws. Through both theoretical and practical training, participants will gain safety awareness and the skills needed to operate these cranes and hoists onshore and offshore. Upon completion, participants will be able to responsibly and safely perform basic lifts in wind turbine environments.

This course is suitable for individuals who work in the wind industry conducting pre-planned basic lifting operations onshore and offshore, using common types of cranes and hoists and following established procedures.
Certificate will be issued by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). It will be valid for 2 years from date of issue, after which a refresher training will be required.
